EPSON PLOTTERS

 

When using EPSON plotters (T7000 and & T7200) there are additional

configurations to adjust the paper size correctly BEFORE you print.

 

These guidelines are to help make sure that your print

comes out with the correct size and orientation.

Though the images are specific to Microsoft Windows 10

there should be similar if not identical options in MacOS.

Epson SureColor T7270 Plotter Printer Preferences

​

1> In your Image Application, click Print then Select the EpsonT7270 printer from the list of available printers

2> Click Preferences to open the Epson's Printing Preferences settings

3> In Size Settings, Click Custom Paper size...

4> In User Defined Paper Size window, enter your desired image Paper Width and Height in Inches.

5> See image below for recommended settings. (Best for Illustration and text)

5> Click Ok.

Epson T7270 Plotter Nozzle check and cleaning

Please be sure to set your Plotter Printing preferences as follows before sending out your print jobs.

 

Printing is currently not available from a Wireless network connected computer at this time. Please process your print jobs from one of the MS AUD Network Computers.

 

Run a Nozzle check prior to printing to make sure all the print nozzles are clean.

 

DO NOT go by the Standard Windows 10 print settings when working with large images. (See screenshots below for instructions)

 

PDF files work best on Plotters so be sure to convert your Illustrator drawings to PDF then open the PDF in Acrobat or Illustrator to print the file.

 

To open The Epson_T7270 Printing Preferences follow the steps below:

 

  1. Open File Manager (Yellow folder icon on taskbar

  2. Type \\aud-ideas-2 or \\192.168.10.138 in the address field at the upper left of the file manager(explorer) window.

  3. Double click on the Epson_T7270 printer icon to view the print queue

  4. Click Printer on the menu bar and select Printing Preferences

  5. Click Utility tab at the top of the preferences panel then click Nozzle Check button (important) see image below

  1. Go to the Printer and check the printout to see if there are any broken lines.

  2. Click on the Head Cleaning button if there are any broken lines in the printout

  3. Run another Nozzle check after cleaning. If nozzle check is good, proceed to print as per the settings above.

 

Note: Head Cleaning only needs to be run once every 24 hours. Please leave your head cleaning print results on the printer after cleaning so that other students can print without running a nozzle check. The date and time will be displayed on the Nozzle Check printout.

Pay close attention to:

 

  1. Roll Paper should be set to 36 in. (914mm)

  2. Paper Size should be set to user defined then click on Custom Paper size to set your Custom image size. (Ie. 24.00” wide by 30.00” long)

  3. Print Quality should be set to Poster (Illustration & Text) for Drawings with images

  4. Resolution should be set for Max Quality if your image contains fine lines.

  5. Select Print Preview check box to make sure it looks good before you send it out to the printer
