Computer Recommendations
All students must have a laptop or workstation powerful enough to support the
demanding video and computational requirements necessary for course work. You are
investing a great deal time and energy in your academic endeavors and your computer
should be considered an important investment to help you achieve those goals.

For technology assistance the OS MUST be “US ENGLISH” version. Asian characters sets are NOT
compatible with academic software.
Windows 10 Professional
You must have a 64bit version of the Operating System.
(32‐bit vs 64‐bit refers to the way a computer's processor handles information. The 64‐bit version of
Windows allows you to utilize more random access memory (RAM) than a 32‐bit system)
We highly recommend a Windows Laptop or PC. If you decide to use a Mac operating system, you will be responsible for formatting any dual‐ boot or parallel OS on your computer if a Windows OS is needed for your course.

The CPU must be an i7 or i9 Intel CPU.
Memory:
16 GB of RAM minimum

*Nvidia GPU strongly recommended
Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 or suitable equivalent or newer.

min: 3x USB 3.0 port / Thunderbolt / USB‐C
Hard Drive:
500GB – 1 TB hard drive (SSD hard drive preferred) If your system doesn’t have minimum SSD drive, strongly encouraged to get an extern hard drive.
Mouse:
3Button mouse (with a middle mouse button scroll in the middle). Critical with the use of modeling software.
Wireless:
Wireless Ethernet (at least 802.11g/n)
Network Cable:
RJ‐45e/CAT5 network cable if needed, can help with faster connection speeds
Secondary Monitor:
With online learning and tutorials, it is HIGHLY recommended that you utilize a secondary monitor
connected to your coursework computer/laptop. This will be EXTREMELY beneficial for you to follow
coursework while simultaneously running virtual meetings.
Webcam:
Since most coursework will be conducted via virtual sessions, please make sure your computer/laptop is equipped with a functional web camera or acquire one that you can attach to your computer/laptop (USB).
