INSTRUCTIONS FOR HP Plotter PRINTING at IDEAS
NOTE: You must have a current IDEAS network account, requested at accounts@aud.ucla.edu
From an IDEAS Network Domain Windows Computer:

Open desired file you wish to print

For PDF files, open with Acrobat Reader or web browser. Which ever you prefer.

In Acrobat Reader, Click print button from application ribbon bar

Select HP DesignJet Z9... in Printer selection field at top.

Click Properties button

This will open the HP DesignJet Z9 Printing Preferences
7. Click Preset and select the desired Preset option from the list or leave at Default.
8. Click the down arrow below Document Size. For Custom size, scroll to bottom and click Create if not listed
9. Type a name for your custom size and type the width and height in the applicable boxes
10. Set your Print Quality from the drop down list
11. Click the slider button for Print preview.
12. modify any other options you wish to set for your print job from the fields provided.
13. For Web Browsers, Click the 3 dots at top right corner of web browser and select Print.
14. Alternatively, Press Ctrl-Shift-P keys simultaneously on Keyboard. This will bring up the Print dialog box.
15. Select desired printer (HP DesignJet Z9...) then Click Preferences button.
16. Go to Step 6 for Printer Preferences
17. For Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator apps., Click File on menu at top then click Print
18. Select Printer then Print Settings button in Print Setup dialog box.

Instructions for HP LaserJet Printing
NOTE: You must have a current IDEAS network account, To request a Printing Account, you must be enrolled in the IDEAS MS-AUD Program.
From an IDEAS Network Domain Windows Computer:

Open desired file you wish to print

For PDF files, open with Acrobat Reader or web browser. Which ever you prefer.

In Acrobat Reader, Click print button from application ribbon bar

Select HP LaserJet M806 or HP Color LaserJet 765... in Printer selection field at top.

Click Properties button.

This will open the HP Printing Properties for the Printer you wish to print to.
7. In the Printing Shortcuts Tab, Click the down arrow to the right of Paper sizes.
8. Select either Letter for 8.5"x11" paper or 11x17" paper. These are the only 2 sizes provided.
9. Do not select any other paper size. The printers will get an error.
10. If you select an unsupported paper size, cancel the job at the printer by pressing the X button at the upper left of the Printer LCD Panel and then select cancel job in the following screen.
11. modify any other options you wish to set for your print job from the fields provided.
